Multi Touch Screen Turntables

I was really taken with this degree show project by Gergwerk. It’s an interesting and well developed interface that uses touch screen technology to emulate the traditional dj turntables. What’s great is the way the interface is so visual and very tactile (despite being a flat screen!). I can see a new era of djs who create new and interesting mixes with devices such as this in the future.

Inpiration beyond reason – Arcade Fire

arcade_fire_downtown

This is an interactive film created by Chris Milk for Arcade Fire’s The Wilderness Downtown. It’s an incredible, emotional film and wow! When technology is used to create an intimate moment between the user and screen, it reminds me of why I got into this creative, digital world. The film reminds me of the amazing early work of Hi-Res (namely Donnie Darko and Requiem for a Dream). Take 10 minutes out and immerse yourself in this experience, you won’t regret it.
